Detroit Fire Ladder 16 & Engine 36

Ladder 16 & Engine 36 was a Detroit Fire Department station established in 1918. Engine 36 was disbanded in 1982, leaving just the ladder company.

Most of the neighborhood around the station was demolished in the late 90's and 2000's to make way for an industrial park that was delayed for almost 20 years. Due to the decrease in population around the station, Ladder 16 closed in 2012, and the station was vacated.

As work on the industrial park began in 2014, the station was sold to a trucking company that was building a warehouse across the street. The second floor of the station was removed and the height of the bay doors increased to accommodate large truck repair.
