1942: Sojourner Truth Housing Projects

After a month of debates and planning, blacks were finally allowed to move into the Sojourner Truth homes in April of 1942. The moving vans were escorted by city and state Police to the homes, and unloaded under the supervision of Michigan National Guard troops.
